oh buon giorno
Sleep did not work it's magic on me last night. I woke up groggy and with the same song stuck in my head. Dead giveaway that you didn't reach full satisfying slumber! No one was around when I got out of bed..until I opened the door that divides house in half. There was a man carrying a wooden table upside down over his head! One of the legs hit the flowery chandelier sending it swinging. At the same moment his wife was stepping over a different wooden coffee table but had been distracted by me opening the door and so tripped. Swinging light fixture + table in the air + tripping lady turning into SUCHAGOODLAUGH lady = grogginess out the door.

FOOD family funnies and fiction
Breakfast:
Mugfull of special k with honey and banana
Black coffee
Lunch:
Gnocchi with pistachio pesto
3 little balls of mozzarella
Caponata (YUM)
all drenched in the best olive oil you've never tasted
Sesame buns
Sweet melon for dessert
Dinner:
THE BEST PIZZA I'VE EVER PUT IN MY MOUTH. ahh..super soft and perfectly chewy crust, mozzarella, spinach, tasty tomato sauce, and mushrooms
A tub of pomegranate for dessert. All you can eat!
We're in castletownsomething staying with my family's family for a night. It's so nice and quiet and out of the big city. We played some good charades this evening. Acting out a magnet is quite comical. Also, participatory hot potato charades. Just close you eyes, imagine, and laugh.
Today I've felt like I have a place with this family. It's been incredible sharing the small things. And now finds me blogging from my iPod in my own room listening to fiction family. :) be well!

Day 24
Worthwhile moments:
After having been out and about for a day and a half and hardly seeing Silvia her saying, "Where WERE you?" with a look of concern on her face. And then giving me a rose.
Skyping with my birthday sister!!!
Waving down the bus while crossing the street in a flury so that I wouldn't be super late to church.
Still being caught off guard by all of the kisses that happen while saying hello or goodbye. I've had a few close calls.
Aaahhh and cheeks hurting during and after skyping Michele! :)
blog ONE
Alright, testing this out. We'll see how long blogging a few moments from each day can last...
Today was FULL of moments. I had a complete day off so I took the bus to Mondello, the closest beach. I've been there a few times already taking bus 544 so I decided to take 833 instead to see a different route. The back half of the bus was open air so I sat with my pack and enjoyed how the air turned from car-fume-filled to beachy-breezy. This bus went all the way around Monte Pellegrino! So beautiful. The road runs right between cliffs and sea.
I took my goggles with me so I could see what I was swimming in! No fish sighted, but the bottom was so ripply. I swam in the clearest blue you can imagine and giggled all the while.
Skip over to the evening now...I've just ridden with three semi-friends to a strangers house to congratulate them on the birth of their new baby boy. More driving past mountains and mountains and mountains. Reading Psalms (18) while driving to Tuolomne in August came to mind. My understanding of Italian is growing because of these WONDERFUL people from church that I have met and how they don't speak English. But still, it's hard for me to follow the conversation. It was so neat to be seated in this room full of great character and study each person. I've become the wordless friend who picks up on the little things, you know?
